The Fourth Wall is the wall that isolates you from others and boxes you in. It is the wall that makes you feel stuck.
Life is about creating your most authentic self. There is no need to perform or continue to separate yourself from others and the opportunities you want.
Together we can break the Fourth Wall.
My name is Sydney Van Horn and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Arizona. I completed my Masters Program and my Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology with a certificate in Working with Military Families at Arizona State University. I have been practicing in the behavior health field for over 7 years with varied clinical experience. I firmly believe that mental health is health. Life is dynamic and with change often comes discomfort and uncertainty. I believe amongst that discomfort blossoms authenticity and personal growth. I strive to help my clients find their footing, becoming the best version of themselves. We do that by breaking the Fourth Wall and deciding for ourselves what our story will be.
I offer individual counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults. I also offer specialized services such as family therapy, parent-focused therapy, neurodiverse-sensitive counseling, treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, depression, and grief work. I am trained in interventions from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approaches. I also use play therapy interventions and art therapy techniques to enhance my work.
My primary approaches include: client-centered, strength-based, and trauma-informed care. I work collaboratively with my clients and families to identify their goals and develop a customized treatment plan. Therapeutic rapport is the pillar of a healthy and productive counseling experience. You can expect our first meeting to be an opportunity to establish our therapeutic relationship and start building the path in your journey.
